Funeral services for Wilbert LaVerne Berry will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at Bram-Turner Funeral Home, Maysville, with burial in Amity Cemetery. Memorial contributions: Amity United Methodist Church or Mosaic Life Care Hospice.
Wilbert LaVerne Berry, 85, St. Joseph, died at his home Nov. 23, 2014.
He was born on Aug. 24, 1929, near McFall, to Wilbert Lee and Leila (Mason) Berry. They preceded him in death.
LaVerne had lived in DeKalb until 2005. He graduated from Amity High School in 1947 and he joined the Amity United Methodist Church in 1986.
He and Kerry Sue Pilgrim were united in marriage at the church, Dec. 6, 1986, by the Reverend Sandra Crater.
LaVerne retired from the United States Postal Service Jan. 4, 1994, where he had served as a rural carrier.
Survivors include his wife Kerry; his children by marriage, Rebecca Johnson (Chris) and Kelly Garland; his grandsons by marriage, Tyler and Shane Garland and especially Noah Johnson.
He was so grateful to daughter Becky for her kindness and loving care during his illness. Also surviving are his sister, Elaine Parton (Jim), Gallatin.
