Four vehicles were involved in an accident that happened at about 3:58 p.m. on Nov. 17 in DeKalb County.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the accident occurred as Paul Person, 63, Cameron, was northbound on Hwy. 69 driving a 2009 Chevrolet HHR. He was making a left turn into Cameron Auto Salvage about one mile north of Cameron. As Mr. Person began to turn left, he pulled into the path of a 1994 Buick Park Avenue being driven by Barbara Patton, 53, Cameron, who was southbound. Her vehicle struck Mr. Person’s vehicle, then crossed the center line and struck two more northbound vehicles. The other two vehicles were a 1995 Dodge Avenger driven by Rachel Trimble, 33, Gallatin, and a 2002 Chevrolet Impala driven by Kent Axton, 46, also of Gallatin.
Mr. Person’s HHR came to rest on the west side of Hwy. 69 on its wheels, facing east. Ms. Patton’s Buick came to rest on the west side of Hwy. 69 on its wheels, facing southwest. Mr. Axton’s Impala came to rest on the west side of Hwy. 69 on its wheels facing northwest. Ms. Trimble’s Avenger came to rest partially in the northbound lane on its wheels facing northeast.
Ms. Trimble received moderate injuries and was transported by Cameron EMS to Cameron Regional Medical Center. She was not wearing her seat belt. Ms. Patton and Mr. Axton both received minor injuries and were taken by private vehicles to Cameron Regional. They were both wearing their seat belts.
The Buick was totaled, the Impala had extensive damage, the HHR and the Avenger were moderately damaged.
The accident was investigated by Cpl. P.M. Kimball, assisted by the Cameron Fire Department.
