The Gallatin R-5 School Board accepted the resignation for the purpose of retirement from Superintendent Dennis Croy during their meeting held Nov. 17. Mr. Croy is completing his thirtieth year in education at the end of the current term. He was approved for the early notification of retirement incentive.

The board authorized MARE, the Missouri Association of Rural Educators, to conduct a superintendent search for the district. They then set Dec. 15 and 16 as dates to interview candidates for the principal and special education director positions.
The board discussed facilities and the proposed middle school project. Initial cost projections came back higher than anticipated. Mr. Croy was instructed to continue to work with the architect to look at affordable options and plans. That is to be done this month.
Will Salmon Excavating was approved for their bid for snow removal.
Fund-raising requests from the FBLA chapter and the Art Club and were approved.
The annual fall sports banquet will be held on Nov. 17 at 6:30 p.m.
The board approved updates to the MSBA policy.
The 2015-2016 District Educational Plan and the 2015-2016 School Calendar were approved.
A bid from CPSK for property and liability insurance was accepted.
The next board meeting was set for Dec. 18 at 6:30 p.m.
