Outside of conference activities, the chapter had the privilege to visit many of our nation’s monuments and museums. On Thursday, members spent time touring our National Smithsonians such as the Holocaust, Air and Space, Natural History, and American History Museums. Chapter members also had the opportunity to see the Constitution and the Bill of Rights at the National Archives. That evening, members spent time at Union Station.

Friday was a busy day for FBLA members. The day began with a two-hour walking tour of National Monuments. Chapter members had the opportunity to see the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument and Reflecting Pool, Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial, and the World War II Memorial. Next, members were granted a White House Tour where students were allowed access to the East Wing of the White House. Members were even greeted by the president’s dog.

On Friday afternoon, members visited Arlington National Cemetery. Chapter members visited the gravesites of John and Jackie Kennedy, the Challenger Crew Members, and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

However, the highlight of the trip was when four chapter members were granted the privilege of laying a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier during the Wreath Laying Ceremony. On Saturday afternoon, FBLA members visited Ford’s Theatre where President Lincoln was assassinated and the Patterson House where Lincoln spent his last moments.
