County Commission
The Daviess County Commission is meeting today (Nov. 12). Minutes will be reported in next week’s edition.
Circuit Court
Before Judge Thomas Chapman on Nov. 5, the following cases were heard: William F. Chapman vs. Missouri Director of Revenue and Bank Midwest vs. Douglas W. Hubbard et al were dismissed by the court. Steven Lawrence et al vs. Vikings USA Bootheel et al was dismissed by the parties.
Cases bound over from the Associate Division to the Circuit Court: State vs. Justin J. Rainey, Gallatin, possession of controlled substance, class C felony;
State vs. Ashley M. Huff, Hamilton, property damage 1st degree, class D felony; domestic assault 3rd degree, class A misdemeanor; assault law enforcement in work zone, class A misdemeanor; resisting arrest, class A misdemeanor.
Civil cases filed: Douglas Shipers, Pattonsburg, vs. Joni L. Shipers, Hamilton, dissolution of marriage; Division of Employment Security vs. Levi J. Kurtz, Jamesport, transcript judgment. Certificates of lien, DOR, taxes, were filed by the State of Missouri against Joseph W. Davis of Gallatin and DRC Contracting Inc. of Jamesport.

Traffic Fines
The following are traffic cases which were heard in the Circuit Court of Daviess County involving a plea of guilty without contest and payment by mail of the standard fines plus court costs. The total fines assessed for defendants who reside outside of Missouri was $814.00 for 6 cases. Total fines assessed for defendants who reside in Missouri was $765.00 for 6 cases. Court costs collected for the State of Missouri amount to $58.50 for moving traffic violations. Missouri defendants, offenses and fines are listed below:
