Children exposed to Domestic Violence (intimate partner violence) are more likely to:
Exhibit aggressive and/or antisocial behavior
Be depressed or experience anxiety
Experience difficulties in school and score lower on tests
Lack conflict resolution skills and problem solving skills
Perpetuate domestic violence or become victims of domestic violence in adulthood
Factors that reduce negative effects of witnessing domestic violence include:
Strong sibling and peer relationships
Supportive adult relationships (especially with non-abusive parent)
