James “Jim” Wendell Hann, 78, St. Joseph, Mo., passed away on November 1, 2014, at Heartland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph.

Jim was born on July 30, 1936, near Onawa, Iowa, to Lester and Madeline (Foster) Hann. He was a 1954 graduate of the Grant City High School.
On October 29, 1954, he married Norma Kay Brown in Grant City. She preceded him in death on July 13, 2013. He was also preceded by his parents; daughter, Jacqueline; and brother, George.
Jim worked as a route salesman for Continental Baking Co. (Wonder Bread/Hostess), retiring in 1996. After retirement he was a driver for the Kansas Auto Auction, Eagle Wings, and Road to Recovery. With his love for music he had a large record collection, which he sold at area antique malls.
He enjoyed his family and grandkids, as well as local sports. Jim coached the kids’ softball/baseball teams. He enjoyed the local music scene. Jim never met a stranger and always had a story to tell. Jim was an active member of the Deer Park Grace United Methodist Church.
Survivors: children: Julie (Jim) Parker, Easton, Mo.; Jill Horvatin, Hamilton, Mo.; and Jon Hann, Gallatin, Mo.; sister, Kathryn Beavers, St. Joseph; 9 grandchildren: Blythe, Blake, Jason, Kristin, Calvin, Daniel, Morgan, James and Jeremy; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Celebration of Life Service: 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 6, at the Deer Park Grace United Methodist Church, St. Joseph. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, November 5, at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, St. Joseph. Inurnment: Blakely Cemetery, Easton, Mo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church.
