Jameson Native Trains Winning Rodeo Horse

Austin Lawrence of Sperry, Okla., a member of the Oklahoma Junior Rodeo Association (O.J.R.A.), recently competed at the 2013-14 O.J.R.A. finals held at the Flyin Cow Arena in Grove, Okla. He qualified in breakaway roping and ribbon roping. Austin was champion all around boy, winner of the ribbon roping saddle and won the average in the breakaway roping. His mount was the AQHA Stallion “Dusted with Steel.” The horse “Tater” is owned and trained by Brock Griffin, Skiatook, Okla., formerly of Jameson. Pictured are Austin, Tater, and Brock.
