The county clerk’s office will be open Saturday, Nov. 1 from 8 a.m. to noon for absentee walk-ins.

County Commission

Jason Smith submitted his 2014 training hours for Medicolegal Death Investigation Conference.

Bills were audited.

The road and bridge crew is working in Grand River Township cleaning out a low water crossing. Additionally, in North Jackson Township, they are placing rip-rap on 290th Street.

Tammy Huffman from Gallatin Publishing Company discussed the bridges in Daviess County with the commissioners.

David Allen discussed brush removal around the county.

David Cox came into the meeting at 9:20 a.m.

David Cox moved to approve updates to the personnel policy manual, Section 7-4 Overtime and compensatory time, and Section 14-1 health and life insurance coverage.

The commission will be closing the courthouse Dec. 26 and not Dec. 24 afternoon this year. Commissioners also approved the 2015 holiday schedule.

Randy Sims and Carl Carder attended LEPC meeting at noon. David Cox left the meeting at noon.

In the afternoon the commissioners toured Benton, Marion, Sheridan, Monroe, Grand River and Union Townships for brush and drainage issues, and inspected progress on new bridge construction.

The Nov. 10 commission meeting will be changed to Wednesday, Nov. 12.

Circuit Court

Cases bound over from the Associate Division to Circuit Court: State vs. Miguel A. Patricio, Kansas City, Kan., possession of controlled substance, class C felony; State vs. Clayton J. McKinnon, Gallatin, failure to register as sex offender, class D felony; State vs. Jared Zerbe, Gilman City, domestic assault first degree, class B felony, assault first degree, class B felony, and property damage first degree, class D felony;

State vs. Dillan Pratt, Trenton, four counts of burglary second degree, class C felony, one count tampering with physical evidence in felony prosecution, class D felony, one felony count and one misdemeanor count of stealing, and two class B misdemeanor counts of property damage second degree;

State vs. Rolla Sweiger, Pattonsburg, DWI persistent offender, class D felony, attempted escape from cutody, class D felony, misdemeanor charges of failure to register vehicle, drug paraphernalia, failure to maintain financial responsibility, and driving while revoked, and an infraction.

Civil cases filed: Chayanne Faxon and Chasity Billingsley, next friend, both of Pattonsburg, vs. Brian Dixon and Tracy Dixon, both of Pattonsburg, personal injury.

Dissolutions of marriage were filed by Misty L. Meeker-Dickinson, Gallatin, against Dale E. Dickinson, Jamesport; by Lindsay Allen, Coffey, against Cody Allen, Gallatin; and by Amanda K. Hogan, Gallatin, against Tommy R. Hogan, Chillicothe.

Associate Division

Dennis Wyant of Liberty and Lynn Wyant of Gallatin were each charged Oct. 23 with one felony count of passing bad checks.

Civil Court

Breach of contract: A default judgment was entered for the New Liberty Hospital District and against Benjamin C. Martin. The New Liberty Hospital District vs. Kurt M. Waterbury was dismissed by the parties. Judgment was revived in Cameron Regional Medical Center vs. Johnnie Price et al.

Suit on account: A default judgment was entered for Midwestern Health Management and against Philip A. Berry et al.

Small claims: A consent judgment was entered for Linda M. Rossiter et al and against Robert E. Roark.
