Funeral directors’ headstone
Lenny Anderson, owner of Anderson Monuments out of Chillicothe, drove the skid loader carrying the reserved gravestone for David and Deanna McWilliams on Wednesday, Oct. 22. The McWilliams, who own McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin, are the representatives for Anderson Monuments in the area, and wanted to preplan their own stone.
The company was moving the stone from its place of rest across the west side of Hwy. MM in Hillcrest Cemetery to his truck, which was parked in the middle of the east side of the cemetery.
It was quite a little trek so his two helpers decided to hitch a ride in the bucket of the skid loader. Adam Anderson, Lenny’s son and part owner in the company, pictured on the left, said they didn’t usually do it that way but were being a little lazy. Mark Anderson, a laborer (not related), is pictured on the right.
The monument company was picking up the McWilliams’ gravestone to take it back to the shop for some extra engraving. The children’s names and a dog will be etched on the back.
The work will take a few hours and then the stone will be returned.
