Gallatin’s second annual Christmas Around the Square will unfold on Saturday, Nov. 22, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., with more than 40 vendors participating in the craft fair. The fair is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at four different locations.

Santa and Mrs. Santa will arrive at the courthouse by sleigh at 2 p.m., with pictures by Tannah Terry. Sleigh rides and train rides will be available, and strolling carolers will be on the square as well.

The Festival of Lights parade is at 5 p.m., followed by the tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. Contest winners will be announced following the lighting ceremony.

Several contests will be conducted. You may enter Christmas drawings through Nov. 20 at local businesses. Collection cans will be in place by Nov. 1.

A cookie/candy contest will take place at Corner Café from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. A coloring contest is planned for the grade school, with first and second place winners from each grade riding with Santa in the parade. There will also be a “Beat the Griswolds” exterior lighting contest.

Food concessions will be provided by the Active Aging Resource Center, Made from Scratch, the Methodist Church ladies, Prom Lock-In Committee, and Hartman Kettle Corn.

Seasons Restaurant will be open, by reservation only, after the parade, and the Gallatin Theatre League will present “All Aboard … Revisited” at Courter Theater at 7 p.m.
