Memorial services for Jack Jones were held Oct. 18, at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. No scheduled visitation is planned. Jack Jones, 78, Gallatin, died Oct. 15, 2014, at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.
Jackie R. Jones was born Sept. 21, 1936, the son of Oren (Casey) and Ina Ollie (Roland) Jones in Gallatin, and graduated from Gallatin High School in 1954.
Jack began his working career at the Hamilton Feed Store in Gallatin. He later was employed as the Director of Transportation for the Hamilton School District as well as owning and operating two gas stations in Hamilton for many years. Jack was later employed at the Daviess County Nursing home where he worked in the maintenance department.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Bettie Page and Patsy Harris Wrex, brother, Marshall Jones and son-in-law, Randy Brinnen.
Survivors include his wife Sharron Collins Jones of the home, two daughters, LouAnn Rongey and husband Kenny of Kirksville, and Marsha Brinnen of Gallatin; one brother, Jimmie Jones and wife Alice of Savannah; step-children, Teresa Iddings, Julie Holcomb, Michelle Anderson, Dennis and Rob Collins; grandchildren, Jesse Rongey, Stephanie Hillyer and Jamie Brinnen, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
