Gallatin First Christian
The Praise Team and Sue Bird led the congregation at the morning service. Junior Stith shared announcements at both services. Children’s message was by Katie Iddings, and then by Beth Plotner, who also played the organ. Pastor Russ Hamilton shared from Genesis 3:11-19, “Consequences.”
Oct. 26 Sunday School youth will have a moving fall party at 9:40 a.m. At 2 p.m. volunteers will meet at the church for Adopt-A-Highway Litter Pick-Up. Oct. 28 is the Neighborhood Table meal in honor of Pastor Russ Hamilton and family; everyone is invited to join.
Additions to our prayer wheel include: the family of Jack Jones, Trystan Sunby, Bill Long, Wanda Brown, Sue Warnes, Skylar Adkinson, Jim West, Dorlan King, Jeanie Baldwin, Sherri Wade, and Tammy Widner.
Fairview Community
Opening today was with prayer and devotional, “Come to Me” from 1 John 1:5-7 and the congregation sang three hymns then closed with prayer. Sunday School studied “Defiant Faithfulness” from Job 24:1; 9-12; 19-25. Worship message was “When Help is Needed ” from Matthew 11:28-30. Special prayers are for Winnie Hoskins family; Caldwell family.
Altamont United Methodist
Adult Sunday School lesson was taught by Barbara Youtsey, “Trusting God, No Matter What, God Will Bring Justice,” from Job 24:1-25. Congratulations to Clint and Layna Toney who were married Saturday evening Oct. 18 at the Cameron Christian Church. Clint is the grandson of Jack and Francie Toney and Ruth Blades of Hamilton.
“What a World We Live In” was the lesson for the Middler Class. Prayers continue for Pastor Marilyn. Susie and Francie enjoyed visiting Zaidee Hawman and daughter Becky in Trenton Saturday morning.
Pattonsburg/Heath UMC Charge
Don Hoffman was fill-in pastor due to Bill Hendrix being ill. Scripture was from I Samuel 3:1-14. The message was “Lord, I’m Tuned In.” Heath joined Pattonsburg Sunday due to the furnace not working at Heath.
Lake Viking
Pastor Robert Nelson’s sermon was “The Attitude of the Heart” from Philippians 2:1-11. A time of fellowship was held following the worship service. The annual Christmas Child Program has begun. This years goal is 110 boxes and the collection date is Nov. 23. The shoe boxes can be picked up at the church on Sunday and filled with items for children around the world. The program is sponsored by Samaritan’s Purse. Wednesday the Ladies Bible Study will meet at 10 a.m., Youth Group at 6:30 p.m. and the Adult Bible Study Group at 7 p.m. Choir Practice is Thursday at 7 p.m.
Lake Viking Church is an interdenominational church located at just outside the main entrance to Lake Viking. Our Sunday School begins at 9am and our worship service begins at 10 am.
Gallatin First Baptist
Bro. Garrett welcomed everyone with Stan Ray leading intercessory prayer time. Kayce Terhune presented the morning special. Bro. Garrett’s message was from Titus 3: 4-7, “God Saves Us.” A Pastor Appreciation Dinner was held after morning worship, and two short videos were viewed, and love gifts were presented to our Pastor Garrett Trunk and his wife, Jennifer.
The ladies will meet Monday at 6 p.m. for Bible Study, and the Celebration Choir will meet Tuesday at 6 p.m. The Pioneer Club and EPIC Youth will meet for supper at 5:30 p.m. with study to follow meal. Our Men’s Bible Study will follow at 7:30 p.m.
FBC will also be hosting, Trunk N’ Treat from 5 to 9 p.m. Oct. 31. We will be serving hot dogs and chips, along with other treats such as: hot chocolate, popcorn balls, popcorn, balloons, and a trunk full of candy and treats in the parking lot. Come and enjoy a fun filled evening at Gallatin First Baptist Church.
Coffey Baptist
Anna gave the opening prayer for our morning worship service. Our doxology was followed with the hymn “His Name is Wonderful.” Carolyn gave the children’s message. Birthday greetings were given before the announcements. Evening services at 6 p.m. Bible study on Wednesday evening at 6. Oct. 25 will be a fun time for kids with hot dogs and a hay ride. All those who are young at heart, meet at the church around 5:30 p.m. Oct. 26 will be our fellowship luncheon and business meeting to follow. Pastor Eldon’s message was from Genesis 7:1-5.
Gallatin United Methodist
Worship service is at 11 a.m. Pastor Mike Tipton based his message, “Worthy of Imitation” on I Thessalonians 1: 1-10. Jan Johnson provided the music as Pryce and Peyton Johnson lit the candles at the altar. Melanie Tipton sang a special, “I Am,” after Pastor Mike gave the children’s message. Our church sent 100 food/health kits to Festival of Sharing in Sedalia. Pastor Mike participated in their bike-a-thon and raised enough money to fully fund one girl’s education for one year in Nicaragua. UMW cookbooks are on sale for $8. Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. is Bible study at Sweatmans’ home. Oct. 26 will be dine in/carry out chicken and noodle dinner. Please call Betty Peters or Nancy Tate for orders. Oct. 27 UMW meeting is at the church with Betty Peters as hostess. Nov. 1 at 7 a.m. is Men’s prayer breakfast. Continued prayer concerns are for Kelly Walker, Patrick McBroom, Dean Pierce, Susie Walker, Bonnie Place and Mady’s friend Lainie.
Friends in Christ
We were welcomed by Shonna Morrison, and Peggy Earnst led us in prayer. Praise songs were, “One Thing Remains,” and “I Can Only Imagine.” We began a new sermon series, “Anything But Average,” with part one, “Exceeding Average.” The message was based on Matthew 5:42. We participated in the communion ceremony, which was led by Mike and Peggy Earnst. Mike Earnst led us in the closing prayer. Small group time was followed by a carry-in dinner. Next Sunday will be our official opening.

Bro. Dan’s message was “What’s My Line?” from Philippians 1:21. Gifts were presented to Bro. Dan and Kristin as we celebrated Pastor Appreciation Day. Jail Ministry is Tuesday evening. TeamKID will not meet this Wednesday.
