Whitney Boyd shot a round of 40 on the back nine Tuesday to finish 15th in the individual competition of the 2004 MSHSAA Class 1 Golf Championships. Whitney is a three-year state qualifier.
Chase Cornett, Pattonsburg High School 2002 graduate, was crowned Homecoming King on Sept. 29 at Northwest Missouri State University. His parents are Ronnie and Pam Cornett of Pattonsburg.

Gallatin’s high school band won top honors in the street parade competition during the Homecoming parade at NWMSU. The group’s flag corps also won first place in separate judging.
Brian McCrary and Devan Iddings were crowned King and Queen of the North Daviess FFA Chapter Barnwarming dance and hayride.

Carrie Froman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Froman of Gallatin, was awarded one of five DAR Citizenship Awards this week. Making the presentation was Mrs. Lawrence Holley of Jameson.
Gallatin’s annual Homecoming took an unusual twist last week when Anita Toney and Carrie Froman tallied identical votes to share the royalty crown.

The Gallatin Bulldogs broke a 16-game losing streak with a 28-6 victory over Albany that climaxed a fine Homecoming weekend. Danny Robertson had his best night so far, carrying 16 times for 184 yards and a touchdown.
Queen Sherri Caraway and King Stan Searcy reigned over R-5 Homecoming festivities. The eighth grade float entry “Albany Warriors Sat On A Wall, Gallatin Bulldogs Caused Them To Fall,” featured Barron Gann and his bulldog.

Elected by Gallatin High School students as official Royalty for the ’64 Homecoming were Queen Judy Worrell and King Larry Worrell. They are cousins.
Miss Cindy Gotschall, a freshman at SMS, Springfield, has been selected to serve as a representative to the Associated Women Students.
Doris Wilson, a junior at NWMSC, Maryville, from Gallatin, has been cast in the first production of the drama season, “The Crucible.” She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Wilson of Gallatin.

Norma Jean Pardun, daughter of Mrs. Harold Pardun, is one of eight Missouri 4-H club members to be selected as a delegate to the National Club Congress in Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. Sterling Shaw of Kidder are being entertained this week at the Hotel President as guests of the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. This honor is extended each year during the American Royal week, to seven farm families representing their districts in the western half of Missouri.

Freckles, female setter, owned by Cpl. Frederick Irwin, who has been in New Guinea for the past year, will hunt no more. She died Sunday evening after a few days illness. Her many friends are saddened that she will not be here to greet her master when he returns.
