Funeral services for Ted Caldwell will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at Poland-Thompson Funeral Home, Cameron. Masonic service is at 6 p.m. Thursday evening with visitation following until 8 p.m. Burial will be at Winston Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church, Winston.
Terry “Ted” Van Caldwell, 64, Winston, died Oct. 14, 2014.
Ted was born on April 13, 1950, in Winston to Jay and Della (VanDyke) Caldwell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Ted was a graduate of Winston High School in 1968 and earned an associate degree in drafting.
On Feb. 17, 1973, Ted married Barbara White in Edinburg.
He was a charter member of the Winston Historical Society; founder, charter member and president of the Winston Jaycees; member of the First Baptist Church of Winston, holding the office of trustee and head usher for several years; twice past master of the Western Star Lodge #15 AF & AM, Winston; former mayor and very active in the community.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara of the home; one son, Terry (Autumn) Caldwell, Winston; one daughter, Jennifer Hoppenthaler, Winston; five sisters, Helen Norton, Janice Michael, Linda Perry, Marilyn Clark and Sherri Slaughter; three brothers, Jim, Gary and Bob Caldwell; and nine grandchildren.
