Circuit Court

The following cases were heard by Judge Thomas Chapman on Oct. 8, 2014:

A jury trial was set for Matthew K. Huff, Pattonsburg, on April 30-May 1, 2015. He is charged with one count of class A felony child molestation, two counts of class B felony child molestation, two class D felony counts of incest, and two unclassified felonies of statutory sodomy. He is accused of sexually abusing an 8-year-old juvenile.

A jury trial scheduled for his wife, Constance R. Huff was vacated, and her case was continued to Nov. 12. She is charged with endangering welfare of a child, class C felony, and misdemeanor hindering prosecution.

The court found Vincent V. Quang in violation of his probation by committing burglary in Polk County, Iowa. Probation was revoked, and the previously imposed sentence of eight years in the Department of Corrections was ordered executed. He had been sentenced in 2012 for the class B felony of possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute.

Jeramy Sanders plead guilty to misdemeanor resisting arrest, amended from a felony. He was sentenced to one year jail, execution of sentence suspended. He was ordered to serve two years of probation and 30 days shock jail time with credit for time served.

John A. Whitmore had been sentenced in April 2013 to four years in the Department of Corrections for no valid license, class D felony. His probation was revoked, and the four-year sentence was ordered executed. The court retains jurisdiction for 120-day callback.

Kelly Jo Beeler plead guilty to four counts class B felony endangering welfare of a child, class C felony possession of controlled substance, class A misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and class A misdemeanor drug paraphernalia. A sentence assessment report was ordered.

Elizabeth Lee Hogan had plead guilty in August to three counts of class C felony possession of controlled substance. She received a suspended imposition of sentence and five years probation. On a misdemeanor charge of drug paraphernalia, she received 60 days jail with credit for time served.

Donald J. Clemmons had plead guilty in August to class C felony DWI. He was sentenced to five years in the Department of Corrections, and the court retains jurisdiction for 120-day callback.

Daniel H. Diaz plead guilty to class C felony possession of controlled substance and class A misdemeanor possession of marijuana. A sentence assessment report was ordered.

Brittany Puls plead guilty to class A misdemeanor assault third degree, amended from class C felony abuse of a child. She received a suspended imposition of sentence, two years probation, and two days jail shock time with credit for time served.

Edgar Hernandez plead guilty to two felony charges, tampering with motor vehicle and resisting arrest, five misdemeanors, no valid license, careless and imprudent involving an accident, assault third degree, drug paraphernalia, and failure to drive within right lane, and one seat belt infraction. Sentencing was continued to Nov. 12.

Jeffrey Matthews plead guilty to two felony counts of passing bad checks, and a sentence assessment report was ordered.

Probation was continued for Michael Faught on a class D felony charge of no valid license, with the additional condition of 35 days shock jail time, with credit for time served.

Probation was extended one year for Richard M. King for felony non-support, and he was ordered to serve 48 hours shock jail time.

A jury trial was set for Andrew Kory on March 5-6, 2015, on charges of first degree rape, victim less than 12 years of age.

Probation was revoked for Henry Lee Chester on charges of possession of marijuana, class A misdemeanor, and his 6-month jail sentence was ordered executed with credit for time served. On a second misdemeanor charge, resisting arrest, probation was extended for one year.

In State vs. Katherine Petryszak and Nicholas Smith, forfeiture of $1,169 was granted to the state.

Dissolutions of marriage were granted to Rachel E. Houser from Matthew R. Houser, and to James L. Roberts from Tiffiany Roberts.

Cases bound over from the Associate Division to Circuit Court: State vs. Austin Frion, Madison, Wis., DWI, alcohol, persistent offender, class D felony.

Civil cases filed: Alex D. Shelton, Gallatin, vs. Paula D. Shelton, Cameron, dissolution of marriage. The State of Missouri filed certificates of lien, DOR, taxes, against Trends A Dollar & More LLC, Gallatin; Cindy Lang, Gallatin; Anthony Holcomb, Gallatin; and Kenneth Maley, Gallatin.

Associate Division

A warrant was issued Oct. 3 for Jennifer Hillman of Winston on a felony charge of stealing. On Sept. 15, Hillman allegedly took items valued at approximately $900 from a Lake Viking residence. Hillman had been residing with and working for Vernon Hanes at the residence prior to taking the items, which belonged to Hanes. Bond is set at $35,000.

Marriage

Ronald Wayne Wilson, 76, and Becky Elaine Souders, 59, both of Chillicothe, were married Oct. 7 by Judge Daren L. Adkins.

Assessor’s Office

Daviess County Assessor Betty Harmison attended the Missouri State Assessors Conference at the Lodge of the Four Season last week.

Recorder’s Office

Marriage licenses issued: Ronald Wayne Wilson, 76, and Becky Elaine Souders, 59, both of Chillicothe; Alvin Walter Hillman, 87, and Mary Ellen Bickford, 78, both of Gallatin; Keith Michael LaBrie, 40, and Amy Kate Woodruff, 34, both of Miami, Florida.
