Earlier this summer, Mr. Watson began working out details to move the Lock Springs radio repeater as the Lock Springs area was covered by the Jamesport tower.

He had suggested the radio repeater be moved to a location near Winston as much of the coverage in the Winston area had been lost.

Mr. Watson stated during the Sept. 25 meeting of the board that he was still waiting for approval from MDC for the antenna move.

If the move to the Winston tower is not approved, Mr. Watson had been in contact with Lake Viking who agreed the antenna can be put on their water tower.

County Clerk Vicki Corwin inquired as to whether there was a written contract for use of the room utilized by Daviess County Central. Supervisor Dana Carder researched the board meetings and found that Commissioner David Holcomb had mentioned the room would be available by April 26, 1996. Board member John Sullenger, who has been on the board since the creation of the county’s 911, said the commissioners had volunteered the office space shortly after Daviess County Central was established and Central would only be responsible for renovating the space. There was no written contract.

County Clerk Vicki Corwin said she had made the inquiry because of a Workman’s Comp claim filed by a member of 911 staff after a courthouse window came down on her hand. She had not been sure of the county’s liability. The 911 staff was covered by the insurance and the claim went through all right. Mrs. Corwin added that debate was still taking place for having a building use policy or contract.

The Geo-Comm contract for 2015 was paid in the amount of $7,681.

A request was heard from dispatcher Tammy Jones for her health insurance premium through her spouse’s insurance plan for $277.92 for one year. The board agreed to pay the premium.

The board advised dispatcher Kerri Sterneker to take a check from Daviess County Central 911 in the amount of the motel room for the conference she was attending.

The August treasurer’s report was approved with bills of $8,872.37; revenue of $22,736.77 and a checkbook balance of $20,740.26.

The September treasurer’s report was approved with bills of $9,869.63; revenue of $39,728.65; dispatch fees from Daviess County of $8,750; and a checkbook balance of $43,493.44.

911 Board members are Gene Walker, Todd Watson, John Sullenger, Larry Huskey, Kate Chrisman, Daniel Wilson and Joyce Eads.

Supervisor is Dana Carder; Assistant Supervisors are Tammy Jones and Kerri Sterneker; Dispatchers are Mary Teel; Ashley Rexing; Steve Lowrey; and Jared Hogan.
