Citing it as a “flawed” proposal, the Missouri Farm Bureau has officially opposed Amendment 3 and is encouraging its members to vote NO on Election Day. Their opposition continues the trend of other organizations and school boards coming out against Amendment 3.

Here is the full statement from the Missouri Farm Bureau:

“The Missouri Farm Bureau Board of Directors at their most recent board meeting voted to oppose Constitutional Amendment #3 regarding teacher tenure, performance and compensation. We have had many of our members – parents, teachers, school board members – express their concerns with some of the far-reaching and not well-thought-out provisions in Amendment #3. With the proponents having withdrawn their support for the Amendment #3, hopefully Missouri voters will understand this amendment has flaws and will vote “No” on Election Day.” – Missouri Farm Bureau President Blake Hurst

Protect Our Local Schools is a coalition of teachers, parents, principals, superintendents, education retirees, and school boards that formed to defeat unfunded mandates and a political take-over of our local schools in Missouri. We are working to defeat Constitutional Amendment 3, which treats students like numbers and takes local control away from parents, teachers, and school districts and hands it over to Jefferson City politicians.
