Funeral services for Ray Carder were held Feb. 26 at McWilliams Funeral Home in Gallatin. Burial was at the McCrary Cemetery near Gallatin. Memorial contributions may be made to the McCrary Cemetery in care of McWilliams Funeral Home.

Ray Carder, 72, Gallatin, died Feb. 22, 2014, at the Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph.
Ray was born Dec. 24, 1941, to Abe and Ruby Carder in St. Joseph, but was raised by Fred and Frances Tague. He attended school in Gallatin and on Aug. 5, 1960, he was united in marriage to Sherry McCrary. The couple lived all their married lives in Daviess County.
Ray farmed in the Jameson and Gallatin area for several years, and later was employed at Trenton Foods for nine years. He worked for MoorMan Feeds for 25 years. Ray was later employed at the Missouri Department of Corrections Center in Cameron working in the maintenance department, retiring in 2006.
Ray was a member of the Jameson Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday school leader for many years. He later transferred his membership to the First Christian Church in Gallatin.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 53 years, Sherry, son, Titus, granddaughter, Tonya, and his sister, Susie Chadwick.
Survivors include two daughters, Tammy (Gary) Jones, and Tonia (Kelly) Beck, both of Gallatin; one son, Timothy (Dana) Carder of Gallatin; three brothers, Wayne Carder, and Kenny and Jim Tague, all of Gallatin; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
