With Friday night’s 66-36 victory over Stanberry, Gallatin’s Lady Bulldogs completed a perfect run through the Grand River Conference for only the second time in team history. That speaks volumes about how tough the league has been over the years.

This year’s Lady Bulldogs surpassed 20 wins in a season for the 14th time in school history, but the last league title by the GHS girls came in 1983-84. Even in their historic season of 1995-96, when they finished runnerup in Class 1, the Lady Bulldogs did not win the GRC.
Friday’s victory came easily and sent the Lady Bulldogs into district with a seven-game winning streak. Gallatin led, 26-9, after the opening quarter and substituted freely throughout the contest.
Kailey Salmon notched 20 points to lead the Lady Bulldogs. Kaitlyn Hefley and Sara Lin finished with 13 and 11 points, respectively. Aubrey Burns came off the bench to chip in 10 points.

GHS boys finish 6-3
Gallatin’s boys wrapped up conference play with a 6-3 record after a 62-49 loss to Stanberry’s conference champion and 9-0 boys.
Stanberry took a double digit lead early but Gallatin cut the deficit to 20-16 early in the second quarter. The visitors went up by 15 in the fourth quarter but Jacob Boyd fueled a GHS rally with a steal and bucket and three-pointer that narrowed the gap to 52-47 with 3:30 left to play.
Stanberry scored twice off turnovers to retake control down the stretch. Stanberry hit nine of 13 free throw attempts in the game while Gallatin only got to the line twice, hitting 50%, at that.
Jacob Boyd hit three treys and finished with a team-high 21 points. Harris Cameron contributed 17 points from the low post.
