TRENTON, MO — Kaylie Russell, a senior at Trenton High School, participated in the Artistic Adventures program in New York City. Miss Russell was one of around 60 dancers from throughout the United States taking part in the Rainbow dance competition from July 10-15. Miss Russell, who has been dancing since the age of three, was chosen for the opportunity as the result of competitions last fall in which she and another local dancer, Kaitlyn Mounce, participated through the L&P Dance Studio in Trenton, where both are dance students. Accompanied by her parents, Kyle and Stacy Russell, and her grandmother, Charlotte Hoskins, Miss Russell spent most of her time involved in some sort of dance training. There were around 80 dancers from across the U.S. participating in the program, with the dancers being put into smaller groups while working with the Rockettes.
