An Excelsior Springs man who called law officers to his home is among three residents charged in federal court for their roles in a conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine. The criminal complaint makes allegations against Glenn Allen DiFalco, 50, Anthony Trurice Grayson, 29, and Clarissa Nelson Cooper, 44, all of Excelsior Springs. Apparently Grayson contacted the Ray County Sheriff’s Department on July 16, saying he was being threatened by DiFalco who had a gun. Grayson fled about a half mile from his residence and told authorities he feared for his life, giving them permission to enter his house to arrest DiFalco. Law officers pursued DiFalco who was apprehended after diving his vehicle into a dead-end cul-de-sac. A search of the vehicle, which was completely filled with debris and clutter, eventually uncovered approximately 79,669-30mg pills (2,300 grams) of Cold Buster pseudoephedrine hydrochloride. These pills were contained in 91 one-gallon plastic bags and contained pseudoephedrine to manufacture 25 pounds of meth with an estimated street value of $1.4 million. Other drugs and drug items were also found. Officers returned to Grayson’s home and found various other paraphernalia. A search of the house uncovered various other items commonly used in illegal drug activities. Officers also located a suspected explosive device, which was later identified as a “booby-trap” device. Evidence in support of charges will be presented to a federal grand jury whose duty will be to determine guilt or innocence. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Catherine Connelly.
