MILAN, MO — Milan police continue to investigate what is suspected to be an arson fire at a downtown restaurant. Apparently someone broke into the second floor door at the rear of Gordo’s Restaurant on July 17. They went to the first floor and spread an accelerant believed to be gasoline. Authorities think two tea lights were placed on a small table near the front door and intentionally lit in order to start the fire but the lights went out before the fire spread since the old, dry flooring soaked up the gasoline. There also was about $300 taken from the restaurant.
