KING CITY, MO — The King City Board of Aldermen voted to purchase water from the Greater NW Water District. The city, already a member of the water district, committed to purchase “some” water prior to an Aug. 1 deadline. The council will have to decide how much water to buy at a future date. Concern about reoccurring drought conditions — severe enough to lower reservoirs — motivated the vote. King City has few other water source options, especially if the Department of Conservation would not approve pumping water from Limpp Lake during drought circumstances.
