Pancake Breakfast Serves Up $1,000 for Fire Protection

JAMESPORT, MO — Over $1,000 was taken in during a recent Pancake and Sausage Breakfast at the Jamesport Fire Station. The fire department volunteers served around 150 people. The fire department held their open house of the new facility on April 19. They moved from their old quarters just north of the 4-way stop prior to the new present building in March and April. Since 1999 the fire department has worked to upgrade their equipment and attend training sessions. In addition to fighting fires and responding to emergencies, several members are trained as First Responders. The fire department operates on private donations and fundraisers, and they also receive $5,000 from the City of Jamesport yearly. The fire department consists of 22 firefighters and 8 of them are EMS trained. Proceeds from the pancake breakfast will go to help with expenses to maintain the fire department.
