PLATTSBURG, MO — Amateur or “Ham” radio operators from throughout the region will be able to show their emergency capabilities to the public June 22-23 at the Plattsburg Fire Station. You are invited to meet and talk with Northwest Missouri ARES ham radio operators as they perform demonstrations from noon on Saturday to noon on Sunday. The annual “field day” is the climax of a week long focus, “Amateur Radio Week” promoted by the ARRL, the national association. Presently there are over 700,000 amateur radio licenses in the United States and more than 2.5 million around the world. The communication services they offer are provided free.
