Billing in Gallons More Friendly to Consumers

BETHANY, MO — City utility customers here will soon have their water consumption billing measured in gallons rather than in cubic feet. New automatic meters being installed at local households and businesses measure water in gallons, a unit that may be more meaningful to most consumers. The per-gallon charge will be equivalent to the previously cubic foot rate charged for municipal water. The city’s water rate will be $8 for the first 750 gallons and .009 for each additional gallon.
