STEWARTSVILLE, MO — Stewartsville C-2 High School has now joined the ranks of 118 other Missouri high schools in becoming A+ designated. Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon presented a speech praising Stewartsville C-2, noting his desire to expand the A+ program to more schools as he assumed office. The A+ program provides scholarships to eligible students from A+ designated schools. It covers the tuition for any 2-year Missouri public community college or technical school. To be eligible for this opportunity, a student must be a legal citizen of the U.S., enter into a written agreement with the high school prior to graduation, attend an A+ high school for at least three years, graduate with at least a 2.5 GPA, log 50 hours of mentoring or tutoring, have a 95% attendance rate, maintain a record of good citizenship, and avoid the unlawful use of drugs.
