Camp Farwesta Targets Pool Improvement

STEWARTSVILLE, MO — Camp Farwesta — home to Camp Quality, Camp Courage, Peace Unlimited, church camps and many meetings and retreats — is in need of a swimming pool reconstruction. Members of the Community of Christ Church jackhammered in pouring rain on March 30 to remove concrete from around the pool. This and additional volunteer labor saved about $3,500 but camp leaders say it is going to take another $30,000 to replace the pool for this summer’s activities and events. Camp Farwesta has held camps on the 80 acres along Highway 36 since 1948. Many changes have occurred during the past 65 years. The swimming pool was added to the campgrounds in 1984. Liners have been used in the pool since its initial construction. New concrete construction will make for easier maintenance.
