LAWSON, MO — Aldermen of the City of Lawson have chosen not to join a Ray County Enhanced Enterprise Zone after homeowners within the designated area expressed opinion that the designation might lessen their property values. Eight areas in Ray County qualify for Enhanced Enterprise Zone designation used in economic development strategies. Mid-America Regional Council grant writer Molly McGovern and Ray County Commissioners Bob King and Mike Twyman made a presentation outlining the potential benefits of an enterprise zone during a council meeting held on March 18, 2013.
