CAMERON, MO — The Cameron R-1 Board of Education approved a resolution to refund energy fund lease certificates of 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2008 to take advantage of current lower interest rates. The move is expected to save the district over $1 million. The board voted to pay the same amount each month and pay off the loans at least two years earlier than previously budgeted. The refinancing of the leases will be offered to local banks and local brokers first.
