Talent Show Pulls Final Curtain After 30 Years

TINA-AVALON, MO — The 30th Annual (and final) Tina-Avalon Country Music Show unfolds March 8-9. Funds raised by freewill donation help fund alumni scholarships and special music department projects. Three scholarships of $500 each will be offered this year. Since 1997, 41 scholarships have been awarded primarily through proceeds from this show which showcases local talent. The T-A Country Music Show originated in 1983 when then Tina-Avalon Superintendent Merl O’Neal observed an unusual quantity and quality of musical talent. He convened a group of residents and alumni to put together a community talent show which grew into the annual tradition.
