CALDWELL COUNTY, MO — Kansas City and Kearney police are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect in the homicides of two women and the possible assault of more. Both women frequented the old Northeast area of Kansas City and their bodies were found in rural areas north of the city. A third assault victim who survived was dumped next to a gravel road southeast of Cameron, MO., near I-35 in Caldwell County. Both homicide victims were found on the sides of roads as though they were intended to be located. Their bodies were found in similar poses, and their clothes were in similar conditions. The road that most directly connects where the women were found is Missouri Highway 92, that area which is bisected by I-35. Other access roads to the areas are U.S. 69 Highway and Cookingham Road. Police have two clues that could help identify the killer: a shoe and a truck. A well-worn men’s sizes 11 canvas Croc shoe was located near one of the victim’s body. This type of shoe became available for purchase in the U.S. in April 2010. Police believe a wife or girlfriend may have bought him the Crocs and noticed he stopped wearing them. Police have also connected an old pickup to the victims, described as a white or light-colored American model truck with an off-color passenger side door. If you have any information, call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS or phone a detective directly at 816.288.0087.
