MAYSVILLE, MO — A DeKalb County man was identified by a member of the St. Joseph Police Department on Jan. 24 as making threats against Maysville High School, where he was a former student. The individual reportedly said he had been picked on and bullied by members of his senior class and by faculty during the year he graduated. Law authorities contacted the school and a lockdown was put into effect with a deputy sheriff posted at the school. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office and members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol contacted the individual, whose name cannot be released at this time, to place the suspect into custody for a 96-hour mental evaluation. Since threats were made in the jurisdiction of St. Joseph, any criminal charges will comes from either the City of St. Joseph or the Buchanan County Prosecuting Attorney’s office.
