TRENTON, MO — There are 234 participants in this year’s Green Hills Wellness Challenge, which got under way last week and continues for 12 weeks. There are 94 returning participants from last year’s challenge, 57 of which have a lower starting weight than the opening of the 2012 challenge. This year’s prize pool is $2,670, including a $1,500 donation from the Grundy County Health Department. A portion of each participant’s entry fee was added to it. Individuals losing 10 percent or more of their initial body weight from the 2013 initial weigh-in will receive a cash prize.
