KING CITY, MO — The King City City Council met recently to discuss Phase II of the five-year plan to replace water lines. Water usage was up 1,300 gallons per day in 2012 compared to 2011. A total of 29,101,560 gallons were pumped to town in 2012 with a daily average of 79,438 gallons. There was a water loss of 3.4 percent for the year (the DNR likes to see under 10 percent). Albert Muff, Water Superintendent, has talked to Ryan Scott of the Missouri Department of Conservation about pumping water from Limpp Lake if the water problems worsen over the next several months from the drought. Right now the reservoirs have 320 acre-feet of water and have to get down to 150 acre-feet before the mandatory water usage goes into effect.
