StormReady designation issued to Chillicothe

CHILLICOTHE, MO — The National Weather Service in Kansas City has officially recognized the City of Chillicothe with a “Storm Ready” designation. This is a program intended to help arm America’s communities with the communication and safety skills needed to save lives and property before and during major storm events. StormReady helps community leaders and emergency managers strengthen local safety programs. StormReady communities are often considered better prepared to save lives from the onslaught of severe weather through advanced planning, education, and awareness. This designation for Chillicothe comes after months of work involving Fire Chief Darrell Wright working with Andy Bailey, a warning coordination meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
