ALBANY, MO — The first phase of a new animal shelter in Albany is complete and more work is underway. Concrete has been poured and the walls and roof are now roughed in, thanks to about $50,000 collected for the project. Cement costs at $34,000 and roofing at $15,000 mark the completion of Phase 1, which also includes plans for 16 dog kennels, a cat cage, insulation and metal interior wall siding. Overall, about two-thirds of the total anticipated costs have been raised thus far. Mark Parmenter’s Timber Wolf Construction of Pattonsburg is performing the construction although competitive bidding processes apply as the project continues through Phase 2.
