BETHANY, MO — Residents here will soon notice new trash trucks rolling through the neighborhoods — but few other changes — following a merger between Veolia Solid Waste and Advanced Disposal Services Inc. The two companies joined together on Nov. 21, 2012, in a $1.4 billion merger to form the largest, privately-owned company in the United States. The joint company will be operating under the Advanced Disposal name. Advanced Disposal will gradually replace the green Veolia trucks with new white Advanced Disposal trucks with the company’s logo. Advanced Disposal will continue to operate the Bethany transfer station which serves nine counties from the Iowa line to Cameron, and from Unionville to Union Star. The company employs 12 persons in Bethany.
