CAMERON, MO — Members of Boy Scout Troop 121 will be passing out Christmas cards to the veterans at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cameron on Nov. 27. The Scouts will be joined by the Missouri Patriot Guard Riders as they organize to depart from McDonald’s at about 6 p.m. to travel across town to the veterans home. This is the third year for this Scouting mission. Cameron Boy Scouts are hoping another troop elsewhere in Missouri will adopt a different veterans home and pass Christmas cards out at that location. So far, this effort is only being done at Cameron. A local veteran, David Rupp, and his wife Sharon, pays for the cards and feeds the Scouts and all other volunteers who participate. Should bad weather force a postponement, a make-up date is Dec. 4.
