BLANCHARD, MO — A joint investigation involving the Atchison County Sheriff’s Office and the Page County (Iowa) Sheriff’s Office uncovered a marijuana growing operation in the basement of a home on Oct. 4, 2012. Arrested were 40-year-old Timothy McCollum and 35-year-old Jessica Sams, both residents at 101 Hughes Street. McCollum was charged with manufacturing a controlled substance, endangering the welfare of a child, and possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and was held on $50,000 bond. Sams was charged with manufacturing a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child and was held on $35,000 bond. Four juvenile family members were taken into custody by the Missouri Division of Family Services.
