CAINSVILLE, MO — A 58-year-old Cainsville man was charged recently with kidnapping and promoting prostitution, according to papers filed in Harrison Circuit Court. Robert D. Harris allegedly confined a woman for a substantial period of time “for purposes of terrorizing her and inflicting physical injury.” The woman told authorities that she had been held against her will at Harris’ trailer near Cainsville and had been denied food while being subjected to abuse. This comes after the man’s son, Robert Lee Harris, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for slashing the throat and killing his girlfriend last Thanksgiving at the Harris residence near Cainsville. Two weeks after his son was sentenced to prison, the elder Harris’ 1986 Chevy Suburban was destroyed in a fire near the Bethany street barn.
