CHILLICOTHE, MO — The Missouri Supreme Court will hear arguments Oct. 4, 2012, in the case of Mark Woodworth of Chillicothe, who is appealing his murder conviction in the 1990 death of a neighbor, Catherine Robertson. Earlier this year, a Boone County judge appointed by the Supreme Court in an advisory role stated Woodworth was a victim of “a manufactured injustice.” The judge concluded that Woodworth should be freed or receive a new trial. Woodworth was 16 when Robertson was shot to death in her rural Livingston County home. He was convicted by a jury in 1995, released briefly on appeal, and then convicted by a jury again in 1999, and sentenced to four life terms. The hearing on Oct. 4 begins at 9:30 a.m. and will be carried live online at mms://www.courts.mo.gov/supremecourtaudio.
