TRENTON, MO — Museum visitors will receive a free .45 caliber musket ball when they visit the Civil War in Grundy County exhibit on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 6-7, 2012. This exhibit presents the experiences of Grundy Countyʼs civilians and citizen soldiers during the Civil War. The exhibit includes a 30-foot display wall with over 60 stories and pictures about Grundy County soldiers, Union and Confederate swords, a Confederate “stars and bars” flag that flew at Vicksburg, muskets and rifles, details about where Grundy Countyʼs soldiers served and are buried, a Union drum carried in 10 Civil War battles, information about and samples of typical food. Everyone will also receive a hard tack biscuit made with an authentic Civil War recipe.
