Hamilton’s Photography by Strade a memory now

HAMILTON, MO — An era has ended for one of Hamilton’s oldest businesses. Photographic supplies and equipment were auctioned off on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2012, marking the end of Photography by Strade, located on Davis Street. The business has been a local fixture since 1947. When the business opened by the late Ed Strade, the studio first occupied space on the second floor of the Hamilton Bank building. Later, after purchasing Cook Studio, the business moved across the street and north of the railroad tracks one block. That’s where the auction was authorized by Ed’s surviving wife, Grace, and son, Tom, who continues to operate his own business in Bethany, MO.
