JAMESPORT, MO — The US Postal Service will hold an informational meeting on POST Plan at 12 noon on Tuesday, Oct. 30,  2012, at the Jamesport Post Office. Local management will share survey results and answer questions about future use of the local post office. The survey identifies four operational options under consideration: 1) keep the office open but reduce hours from 7.75 hours each weekday to 6 hours (no change on Saturdays); 2) initiate a discontinuance study and offer roadside mailbox delivery; 3) conduct a discontinuance study and find a suitable alternative location operated by a contractor; and 4) conduct a discontinuance survey and provide P.O. Box service at another nearby post office and relocate P.O. Box delivery to that neighboring post office.
