SAVANNAH, MO — City limit signs around Savannah recently were upgraded, revealing a positive change. Savannah’s population has broken the 5,000-person mark, according to the 2010 U.S. Census. This is an increase of 295 people from the 2000 Census total of 4,762. This is a 6% growth rate. Andrew County also experienced a population increase during this decade past, up nearly 5% to total 17,291 persons — the highest yet. The county has steadily grown since the population bottomed out during the 1960 census which listed 11,062 persons living here. New signs were put up by MoDOT on all state routes and highways.
