CHILLICOTHE, MO — Plans are well underway for the 20th Annul Fly-in/Drive-In at Chillicothe Airport to be held Aug. 18, 2012. The EAA chapter pilots fly Young Eagles (ages 8-17) free of charge during the event. Approximately 500 to 600 people are expected to attend.

A pancake/sausage breakfast will be served from 7 to 10 a.m., and a lunch will also be served. Local honor guards, the Life Flight Eagle helicopter, the Missouri Highway Patrol “Convincer,” Pilots for Christ, Fire Department, St. Joseph Barnstormers, R.C. Flying Club and Eagles Club, the Green Hills Remote Control Group, and local car dealerships are planning to participate.

One other news of note: Ashley Peniston, wife and mother of four, soloed a 1969 Cessna 172 on July 17 to become the first solo flight by a female since 2000. Gail Longworth flew in July of that year.
