Two people were injured in accident that happened on Hwy. 36 at Route J., two miles south of Kidder at about 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, according to the state highway patrol.

David T. Crabb, 67, Kidder, was northbound attempting to cross Hwy. 36. He failed to yield to a westbound vehicle being driven by Walter Judd, 55, St. Joseph. Crabb’s vehicle struck Judd’s vehicle in the driver’s side. Judd’s 2008 Mazda Tribute began to skid, traveled off the west side of the roadway, and overturned. The Mazda came to rest on its side off the west side of the roadway. The Crabb vehicle, a 1995 Buick Century, came to a controlled stop off the right shoulder of Hwy. 36.
Judd received moderate injuries and was taken to Cameron Regional Medical Center by Caldwell County EMS. Christopher Venneman, 38, Chillicothe, an occupant in his vehicle, received minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene. All involved were wearing their seatbelts.
The Buick had moderate damage and the Mazda was totaled.
The accident was investigated by Tpr. S.S. Gates, assisted by Cpl. M.S. Belshe, Cpl. M.K. Allen, Trp. J.C. Gilliland, and the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Department.
