Jerry Lee Harpster, 68, died Sunday, May 6, 2012, at his home, in Houston, Texas. He was cremated and his ashes were blessed at a service in his home.

He was born Feb. 6, 1944, to Frank and Ruth Harpster, of Kidder.
Jerry graduated from Shaw Memorial in Kidder, and the University of Missouri, Columbia, with a master’s degree in civil engineering.
He moved to Everett, Wash., where he worked on the Boeing 747. Later, he lived in Oklahoma City, Okla., Jackson, Miss., Sugarland, Texas, and finally in Houston, as a stress load engineer for metal buildings.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; two daughters, Laura and Susan; four brothers, Robert, Warrensburg, Charles, Kidder, James, Valpariso, Fla., Kenneth, St. Joseph; and two sisters, JoAnn and Mary, Columbia.
